SAINT JOHN, NB December 1, 2016 – Propel ICT Inc., widely known as Atlantic Canada’s startup accelerator, hosted its most recent Demo Day on Nov 29, 2016 in Halifax. This event marked the successful completion of training for the accelerator’s eighth cohort of technology entrepreneurs.
“With more than 200 people in attendance and 11 companies pitching, there is strong evidence of the vibrancy of the Atlantic Canadian startup ecosystem,” said Anita Punamiya, CEO of Propel ICT. “Events like Demo Day are possible because of our incredible network of funding partners, sponsors, community partners and the Propel ICT team, and a huge thank you goes out to each of them for their help supporting the growth of our startup ecosystem.”
Propel ICT also announced today the addition of two new team members – Richard Jones and Charlotte Rydlund – who will be joining the organization as Entrepreneurs in Residence starting in January 2017. Richard Jones has more than 30 years experience in IT, engineering and entrepreneurship. Charlotte Rydlund brings 10 years of corporate experience, which she successfully leveraged in co-founding her technology startup, PACTA. “We couldn't be happier to bring their experience and talent to the team,” said Punamiya.
