Moncton, NB – July 23, 2013 – Propel ICT’s Launch36 business accelerator has opened applications for its third cohort amid news that BDC Venture Capital, one of Canada’s largest and most active venture investors, will make a $150,000 seed investment in “venture-ready” companies upon completion of the program.
Since its creation a year ago, Launch36 has admitted 20 companies from across Atlantic Canada to the first two cohorts. These companies have created more than 100 jobs, raised more than $7 million in investment and a majority of the companies were generating revenue by the end of the 5-month program.
“Our goal is to help high-growth potential entrepreneurs turn their ideas into sustainable businesses,” said Trevor MacAusland, Launch36 Executive Director. “Our mission is to help surround these entrepreneurs with mentors and advisors who can help them identify risks, validate their product within the market and make them investor-ready so they can raise capital.”
Launch36 is an intense three-month sprint in which companies focus on validating their markets and acquiring customers. This is done by combining Lean Startup methodologies with an international roster of more than 120 mentors.
Companies interested in applying for Cohort 3 should visit http://launch36.ca before August 16th.
