Halifax—Propel ICT, Atlantic Canada’s startup accelerator, today announced that East Coast startup entrepreneur Gillian McCrae has joined the organization as Vice President. McCrae knows Propel ICT well. As the founder of Charlottetown-based Get Gifted, she is a graduate of the organization’s successful Launch 36 program, and she has been an active part of the burgeoning East Coast startup scene.
“I’ve seen firsthand how important Propel ICT is to developing a strong startup community in Atlantic Canada. With its private sector focus, committed mentors and network of community partners throughout the region, Propel ICT is on track to achieve its ambitious target of graduating 420 startups from its Launch and Build programs by 2019,” said McCrae.
As Vice President, McCrae will be responsible for driving the growth of Propel ICT through its responsive programming and by building mutually beneficial relationships with community partners, sponsors, post-secondary education institutions and government.
“Gillian is a talented, passionate entrepreneur who brings a real sense of energy and enthusiasm to Propel ICT,” said Gary Dinn, Propel ICT’s President. “We are growing in the scope of our operations and programming and it is important to add people of Gillian’s quality to our team.”
Earlier this year Propel ICT also announced the appointment of Al Sturgeon and Ying Tam as Entrepreneurs In Residence, based in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia respectively.
