Our first Incite cohort has just completed Phase 1 of the accelerator. We checked in with a few of our companies to see how their experience has been so far.
Christel Seeberger is the founder of Sensory Friendly Solutions - an app that is leading the movement towards a more #sensoryfriendly world. Sensory Friendly Solutions helps you to discover and rate places to eat, drink, shop, live, learn, work, play and travel that are #sensoryfriendly. The app will also bring consumers more customers by guiding the transformation of their restaurant, store, building, destination or event; therefore improving your #sensoryfriendly customer experience.
Here’s what Christel had to say after completing the first phase of Incite:
“Even with the experience of founding, growing and selling my previous company along with a solid 25-year career as an occupational therapist behind me, launching a tech start-up as a social entrepreneur sometimes still feels a little formidable. Every week for the past 13 weeks of the Propel Incite pre-accelerator, I have had this same litany of thoughts:
- My head is on fire with everything I have learned from the videos, readings and lessons this week.
- However once digested, especially with the input of my EIR and the counsel of expert mentors, I know exactly what to do to move my start-up forward in the best way possible right now.
- Finally, if only I had known this with my last company, I would have grown it stronger and much faster. Moreover, I certainly would have been able to sell it for a lot more money!”

Matt Zimola is the co-founder of ReelData. They use technology that analyzes real-time video feeds from fish pens to help the aquaculture industry calculate and predict biomass, stress and health levels of fish. This will help farmers hit their biomass targets while optimizing feeding costs.
Matt tells us how Incite has helped ReelData so far:
“Our company made a significant pivot within the first week of Incite. Propel's EIRs and the new curriculum has given us great footing to move forward on our new idea within the aquaculture industry. We are now working to solve a huge pain point for salmon farms and finalize our proof of concept this January for the real-time estimation of biomass. “

Entrevestor: 17 Startups Tap Innovacorp Programs
David McNally is the founder and CEO of Agyle Intelligence. The platform automates data collection and reporting throughout teams, operations and supply chains to improve decision making, simplify reporting and optimize profitability.
Here's David's take on Incite so far:
“Propel’s Incite program has been very beneficial to our team at Agyle Intelligence. The knowledgeable and experienced EIR team has been great to work with, and they have provided considerable guidance on key decisions that we had to make for our company.
The quality of presenters and the level of engagement from each to answer questions, take meetings and lend advice shows what a great community there is around Propel. Overall though, I think the mindset-shift towards the Lean Canvas/Sprint approach vs traditional business planning was the most beneficial to us and it makes a lot of sense for entrepreneurs to save time chasing a dream that may or may not actually work in the marketplace, no matter how passionate we may be about it.
Having been involved in a couple startups prior to joining, I wasn't sure how much benefit I would receive from Propel, but I can confidently say, it has been a great experience so far and I look forward to learning more from the team and the community as we move forward.”
