Propel Announces Leadership Transition and Search for New CEO

Moncton, (NB) May 11, 2020 – Propel ICT’s Board of Directors announces a search for a new CEO as current CEO Barry Bisson transitions to retirement in the Fall of 2020. An executive Search Committee will lead the effort in partnership with executive search firm, Chapman Group.  

The organization will be looking to attract a diverse group of applicants, with the ideal candidate leading growth, guiding day to day operations and who can continue to build Propel’s capacity and reputation as the leading virtual accelerator in Canada. 

Board Chair Jeff White states, “We have been exceptionally lucky to have Barry lead our team over the past three years. His knowledge in scaling tech companies and managing our stakeholder relationships has helped Propel become a leading virtual accelerator for ICT ventures. We have a significant opportunity to grow our impact on the economy and much-needed economic recovery as we engage and support more companies than ever before.”

The goal will be to have the role filled by the Summer of 2020 and Bisson will conclude his term by October 31, 2020. This announcement comes on the heels of other exciting news, including Propel’s successful Demo Day on May 8th with nine showcase companies and the presentation of the Gerry Pond Sales Award and $25,000 prize to St. John's, NL based Oliver POS.
