Propel’s Annual Showcase Celebrates 9 Outstanding Companies

August 23, 2021

Propel graduates Total IQ, Invisible Agents, SepticSitter, Care Crew, Union.Dev, Oliver POS, Foodbyte, Milk Moovement, and Simbi presented their business ventures during a virtual showcase that allowed each company the opportunity to do a 3-minute pitch and 5-minute Q&A to more than 50 Investors from both the US and Canada.

Traditionally Propel has held it’s wrap up event in person but was forced to switch to a virtual presentation as a result of COVID-19. Having run their accelerator virtually for the last two years the transition to a virtual event made sense and allowed more participants to join regardless of their location. Today’s virtual Showcase allowed actively fundraising companies to present their success stories to these important technology investors. Now more than ever, the world is in need of new technologies and disruption, and the nine graduate ventures are poised for growth!

“These companies have worked extremely hard to prepare their presentations and get themselves ready for investment in this changing environment.” said Propel CEO Barry Bisson “It is a testament to both the quality and tenacity of these founders. We at Propel are incredibly proud of their progress and accomplishments during their time in our accelerator.”

Oliver POS, a WooCommerce software, accepted the 2020 Gerry Pond Sales award, winning a $25,000 cash prize. The criteria for winning the cash prize is Revenue Growth, Customer Growth, and demonstrated ability to push leads effectively through the funnel. Mathias Nielsen, Founder of Oliver POS said “We are thrilled to win this award! As a bootstrapped business this will help us hire more local support staff to help us optimize incoming customers!”

Propel created the sales award in 2019 in recognition of Gerry Pond and his contribution to the Atlantic Canadian innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem. Gerry Pond co-founded Propel in 2003 and since then, he’s played an integral role in the organization which helps launch tech startups in Atlantic Canada. The sales award is sponsored by Hon. Frank McKenna, UNB SJ, BeersNeal PC, Innovatia, Cirrus9, Sunny Corner Enterprises and Resson.

In April, Propel announced its transition to continuous intake, where startups can begin the accelerator program at a time when they need it most instead of waiting for the next cohort-based intake. Propel is actively seeking ambitious tech companies looking for access to world-class startup methodology, dedicated coaching, and looking to expand their business network to include mentors and advisors. The path to being accepted into Propel’s Accelerator begins with your application through propelict.com/apply.
